I had purchased a cell phone from this company. While it worked, it was fine. But then it didn't work anymore, so I called them to try to get technical assistance. I WASN'T EVEN TRYING TO GET A REFUND - JUST ASKING FOR ASSISTANCE! I called 3 times (and had to leave VMs because was nobody answered) over the course of 2 weeks, as well as sent 2 emails. I received ZERO replies. Absolutely inexcusable. I ABSOLUTELY DON'T recommend.

I bought a tv remote control from the AlzStore.com. The remote does not work for my mother-in-law's assisted living facility. I opened the remote control to install batteries and to try to get it to connect, but due to their "post 30-day" policy they would not accept my return attempt for an otherwise unused/unusable tv remote!

Out of an abundance of caution we do not accept certain items back for return that have been used. We value our future customers as much as our current customers. We want to be sure new customers are getting new product that has not been used, with potentially drained batteries or missing components due to testing. Thank you.

We bought one of their Playmate Pets. When we opened it and turned it on it scared my wife. The purring was more like a growl and very creepy. When we ask to return we were told anything with cloth cannot be returned even if unopened. They say it is to protect customers and warehouse workers from contamination. Even during the height of Covid this was not a medically sound practice. No other merchandiser has anything like this policy, especially concerning unopened items. Basically, they allow nothing to be returned.

False advertising!
December 23, 2024

I bought the meta cat robotic cat for my mother with dementia. Thinking it would be a companion to her as she gets lonely I went ahead and paid the 200.00 price. It was advertised as a companion for dementia patients. Once received I opened it to see how to use it before I gave it to my mom. It was so complicated and hard to charge there is no way my mom could figure it out. I reached out to the company for a return and they told me to be philanthropic with it and they do not issue refunds. How about them being philanthropic and giving someone taking care of an elderly person their money back for a product that was just looked at…especially after they advertised it for dementia patients.

Our products are intended to be reviewed by the caregiver to determine if it's is appropriate. Any product that contains batteries or that needs to be charged might not be a fit unless the caregiver can assist. Out of an abundance of caution we do not accept certain items back for return that have been used. We value our future customers as much as our current customers. I bought the picture phone for my husband so he could push the picture and connect to a loved one. It worked for a very short amount of time. I tried emailing and calling the company but it is impossible to get them to respond. This phone was $50. What a waste of money. I should have bought it from Amazon. At least they accept returns! Don't buy from this store!

The Alzheimer's store is a scam. Do not ever purchase anything from this site. They charged my debit card over $300 and never provided the product. They have an automated email response and refused to answer questions or refund my money.

I bought a Playmate Pet, Tuxedo Kitty, for a loved one with severe memory loss. The cost was $125.00. I reached out Alzheimer Store staff several times by phone and email with no response prior to opening the product. I did not get a response. I opened the package to review the kitty prior to giving it to my loved one. The Playmate Pet was hard as a rock. The movements were jerky and after a few meows the "toy" stopped. The product would not have been a comfort to my loved one. The product is a piece of junk. I will not donate it: into the garbage it goes. I completed the return form online and I received a quick response saying SOL: no returns since the package was opened. The name, Alzheimer's Store conveys compassion and loving kindness. Buyer beware. $125.00 is a lot for me as I am on disability for a cancer diagnosis. The owners of this store should be ashamed of themselves for their products that are junk and praying on big hearted loved one of suffering people.
Very poor customer service and a waste of a lot of money.
No receipt to add for proof of purchase. Just buyer beware.

I purchased a comfort puppy for my Mom who has alzheimers. The cost was $140.00. When I showed the puppy to my Mom, she got scared and wanted nothing to do with it. I contacted the company and explained that the box had been opened so I could show the item to my Mom. She never touched it. It was only out of the box for 5 minutes. The company's policy is no returns on opened items. How do you know you can't use something unless you open it and look at it? This company is in the business of selling products with absolutely no intention of accepting returns. They have numerous reasons why they won't accept the return and will not work with you to find a solution under any circumstances. Their main excuse is for "sanitary reasons".The BBB doesn't honor them and they've had numerous complaints. I trusted the name and didn't do my research before purchasing. I've learned a tough lesson.

DO NOT buy a thing from this store! For one the products are EXTREMELY overpriced and the return policy is nothing short of ridiculous! Don't be sucked into the "About Us" story about their "dear George...this is why we started the store" story. They're in it for the money, plain and simple. They won't work with you and will take more advantage of you along the way.

We never received the product this customer claims to have send back to us. He shipped it to another company in another state and did not follow the instructions on the return form.

Our company was created to assist the elderly and we stand by our products. The products are priced as low as possible and are selected by us, as industry experts. We would never take advantage of this and our return policies are clear and like any online store, they should always be read before making a purchase.

George was our family's patriarch and grandfather. To hear that a customer wants to shame us for helping others that are impacted by Alzheimer's is hurtful to our family and team members.

It is sad that this is a platform for those who want to be leery of those who help. Our family story is true and we have run our store for over 10 years and have thousands of real and gleaming reviews that can be found on our site - not on a platform that promotes negativity and hate.

Thank you!

Notice that the initial reply to this review does not address the issues with the defective product.

A cheap $70 phone with a glitchy phone app priced at almost $400 with a pad charger. The phone has zero consistency, and the return policy is a rip off.

Terrible return policy. Once they have your money, they want to keep it. No matter the problem or issue. They charge 30-50% for unused returns all at their "discretion". We understand issues pertaining to returning health care or hygiene products, but this does not pertain to a defective cell phone and charger.

They offer a cell phone for Alzheimer's just below $400. The phone is a cheap $70 Blu phone with a cell phone App called RAZ. If the app worked it would be great, but we experienced many glitches with problem after problem. It is also missing key elements to keep the user from getting confused.

I wound up buying a Jitterbug phone with GPS for $119 and $19 per month. Add another $10 for GPS location.

The website displays all good reviews. We just tried leaving a One Star Review and the website would not accept it. See photo.

Due to the nature of our products and the labor intensive process of cleaning returns, resetting them to factory settings and or disposing of them, our return policy has to be strict to ensure the safety of our employees and customers and to make sure returns are professionally handled. If items are opened they cannot be resold and require a restocking fee - and they are then donated.

Restocking fees also help to cover the original shipping costs to get the product to our customers and for the returns department to inspect the item and process the credit.

I don't recommend this site for anyone supporting someone with Alzheimers. Dealing with this disease is stressful enough so I wouldn't recommend a site that creates more work for the caretaker. I purchased a defective reminder clock on this site. I contacted the end merchant directly who didn't respond and I wasn't unable to get a response from the Alz store customer service directly. So stressful!

They should be selling used cars
February 28, 2022

I purchased an automatic pill dispenser from the Alzheimer's Store. Buying it and receiving it was easy and flawless. However, my elderly mother passed away right after we received it. We have not even taken it out of the box. I asked to return it. The following statement was their ridiculous excuse for not accepting the return. "Medication dispensers are non-returnable, due to the health and safety concerns surrounding handling medication, or devices that have come in contact with medications". I followed up their response with the reminder that it has never been out of the box nor in contact with medication. They will no longer respond to me.

David, we are sorry to hear of your loss. Medication adherance and patient safety is our #1 concern. Most of our medication dispensers cannot be returned as we cannot take the risk that any medication residue is left in them from a prior return. We hope that you can understand we provide the sales of many end of life products, and we have to be very careful with how these returns are handled. Donating items helps the community and others!

Bought Arthur the Bear for woman with alz who will be dying of cancer any day. He plays music by just pressing his paw which is great for alz people. I spent 4 hours downloading mp3 songs she likes. There were 5 songs on it already so I left them. Thought they might be preloaded by manufacturer or maybe it was a return. Well... Only a 3-4 of the preloaded songs would play. The first song would play over and over again sometimes then it would sometimes just play 3-4 songs and stop. NOT a half hour as advertised. Then had hard time getting the same old songs to play again. Had to push paw button ten times or more. Also even highest volume level was too soft for those with normal hearing to listen too. An elderly person, as the one I bought it for can't hear it at all. I was told by customer service before buying you can load 4GB of mp3, I put on just over 2GB... not a one will it play. Also the Button doesn't work for Loop or Reshuffle. Reshuffle plays only the first song over again. Loop plays whatever number of songs it feels like in the order they were downloaded. Not always all of them then shuts off. Bear cost $70, paid $21 for UPS ground shipping to get it before she dies as that is the only "fast" service they offer. The company has not yet responded to my email about faulty item and I did not do proper diligence reading their (non) Return Policy... it is horrible. No wonder BBB has them rated F. I didn't look that up or for store reviews before purchasing... not my usual for online shopping but was so happy to see this product. I did look for it elsewhere but only found it here. It's a wonderful idea but they need to either be honest about what it does or fix it... and accept returns for defective products! I feel scammed though the person I got it for loves it as a small Teddy Bear to hold and talk to... I could have got one of those for $20 or less. The store has no integrity that I can see so I can't recommend it.

PS Another weird thing is that I got order confirmation and link to check on my order yet my account states I never bought anything from them. I emailed to question this and was told they didn['t know but would alert website techs.

I ordered a home alert pager & pendant. Description said there were 50 tones to choose from. It only plays a siren sound. I emailed customer service twice before getting a reply. They said they would call me asked me When I was available. They called when I said I wasn't. Tried calling them but can't get them to answer. Realize I was scammed. Paid way too much for what I got. I should have checked reviews before ordering. Don't buy from this store.

Iris, the alarms do indeed have 50 tones! Please see the product instructions for how to set them. Hint: the clip slides off the back which exposes the volume and tone buttons. They are intentionally concealed so they are not accidentally changed. Hope this helps!

Beware of this store! Now only does the return department never answer the phone or emails, they charge you a ridiculous 25% restocking fee even when the box is not opened! They are taking advantage of the elderly knowing full well that within this age group, products can be returned for multiple reasons. I never even opened the box that the phone I bought for my elderly mother came in yet I was charged this insane fee... Never again will I buy anything from them.
