Incompetent scam artists
December 20, 2024

We bought tickets to a movie that they never emailed to us. We showed up to the theatre and couldn't get in. Called their service line and was hung up on twice after sitting on hold 15 minutes each time. Then tried their useless chat bot that replies with links to their FAQs before timing out. Flixster/Fandango is a perfect example of everything that's wrong with tech companies. They provide a minimal service that is great at taking your money, but when something goes wrong they are impossible to reach. Just like they wanted. Hopefully they're over leveraged and go bankrupt on the next down cycle and join all the piece of $#*! movie theatres that force you to use these dog$#*! apps to buy a ticket before showing up. If you work at this company and are reading this, jump off a bridge. You know you're a piece of $#*!.

What happened?!?! Used to be my go to for movie tickets, latest dvd releases, watch trailers... Now it totally sucks! Someone needs to get fired because they have no idea as to what people want. Get a clue.

Flixster used to be my go to app for movies playing and reviews - however since they stopped including Landmark Theaters in my area I have stopped using it. Why would I want to look up shows and movie times in my area on an app that only gives me partial information? I contacted them about this - but nothing. Good bye Flixster!

What happened to this versatile app? I used to use it all the time to find out what was showing in local theatres and now can't see a thing. Really disappointed and have removed the app. Is there anything anyone else is using to replace it?

Garbage
June 21, 2018

Just redundant junk. I buy a physical copy but simply want to watch it on iTunes as well. I paid for the digital copy, so how hard can it be? Who is Flixter anyway? It's the sloppiest app I've ever seen.

Destroyed app
July 27, 2018

My go to movie app for the last how many years, just destroyed by latest update. Bye bye flixter. Why do developers insist on this... it worked great, now it doesnt work at all. Might as well be IMDb for all the use it is and I already have IMDb.

This app is now useless for looking for whats on in all local cinemas which was how I used it. Also the information, times of shows, ratings and synopsis for each film was easy to find. I don't undestand why the app has changed to make it completely unuseable for purpose. Some imbecile designed it. Maybe I have missed the point somewhere?

Both Warner Brothers Digital copy and FlixterVideo are rip off. Make sure before buying any movies with digital copy, you read the label carefully. My kids love watching movies on iTunes but WB Digital Copy only works with FlixterVideo, Which sucks!

WB Digital Support Sucks the most! It is just an email service which sends you the same exact email no matter what you ask.

This used to be such a versatile app. Within 2 clicks you could see what was on at your local cinema times and reviews. Now it is utterly useless. I have now deleted a much loved app

This is the third time I have called,,,,, no movies, no help, no refund, or credit, there techs talk you in circles and don't have a clue how to fix,,,, real waste of time, they now what the problem is they just won't share it with you,, if anyone sues I'm in,,, class action law suit,,,,, 100 movies,,, 15 to 20 a pop adds up quick

Bought Gravity...
October 18, 2014

Bought Gravity... went to redeem it and found out that I either have to stream it or download it and watch it using THEIR media player. I'm not burning through my data to watch the movie and I'm not installing yet another app to watch a movie with.

Take a hint from everyone else Flixster, make your movies pc/mac ready. I play all my other movies on iTunes.

Guess i'll have to rip this movie and watch it that way on my ipad with no chapter selection or anything.

Thanks for nothing

A lot of the best movies get downloaded to flixter, but the app needs internet. My 4 kids want to watch the movies while there in the car or on the plane on there iPads, but cant because they need internet, utterly uesless.

Redeeming codes is the worst, always making me reset my password. It's time the movie industry stopped making people pay for digital and dvd copies by offering a cheaper alternative. Those who want the extras can pay for it.

Loved this film. So relevant in terms of what is happening to our religious liberty in this country. Story line couldn't be more true. Great acting. Beautifully shot. Awesome music. Loved seeing actors from some of my favorite movies and TV shows in this faith-based film. Jesse Metcalfe always easy on the eyes. Highly recommended for either date night or family outing. GOD'S NOT DEAD! He's surely ALIVE!

This website is so unbelievably bad. I'm not a huge digital copy person but hey, I want what I paid for. Every since Ultraviolet started requiring you to redeem movies through the piece of garbage flickster it hasn't been worth it. Flickster requires you to link your UV account to them, but when you do so you get an error message suggesting you contact support. And the genius advise you get from flickster support is to just try again. Tried initiation a customer support chat at 5:30 pm eastern time (their site says they are available until 1 am pacific time) and guess what, no one is available. This has totally turned me off the idea of spending money for digital copies.

What the hell happened?

What were you thinking, Flixster? You used to have a perfectly serviceable and user-friendly app. A user could see ratings and full reviews of new movies, necessary theatre information in case he chose to go see a movie, and information about the latest released DVDs, in case he wanted to buy, stream or use an on-demand service to see the latest available movies at home. I guess the app developers thought they had to do a major change and overhaul in order to justify their continued existence. The new app appears to have driven away more customers than New Coke. Back to Rotten Tomatoes on the browser. RIP, Flixster.

I have never been treated so bad in my life from any company on this Earth! I have been collecting movies in Flixster for years! I had over 200 movies in my families account, but now my 200+ movies have disappeared, and Flixster will not help me recover any of it. I feel as if I've been robbed, but all they can do as a company is blame Ultraviolet, who in return blames Flixster! Not one bit of help, except a couple of e-mails stating I had to merge accounts, which we have done multiple times, but still no movies or help from this Flixster! This company really does not care. My wife and I have tried to recover our movies for at least a year now, but still no help! I will keep trying as I am having a hard time letting go of 200 movies/$2000!

Landscape view only. Why? Finding what theaters are playing a movie you want to see is an adventure not worth attempting. Definitely a giant move backwards. Way to go, Flixster.

Landscape mode should be for videos or gaming only. I use my IPad in portrait mode most of the day unless I'm either watching a video, checking stock charts, or gaming. Whoever signed off on this latest disaster update does NOT belong in app design. I never rate any app because my time is too valuable to waste time helping companies better their products without paying me a dime, but now I have to waste my time finding a new app to replace this one. So far, Yidio seems to fill the void for now.

When Flixster disciplines the employee who signed off on this and reverts back to the previous layout, I may forgive and reinstall the app. However, I think they owe all of us users who made Flixster popular a big apology. Netflix and other companies have done the same. Now Flixster should follow suit.
