Do not conduct business with these individuals. With the anticipation of a 30% return, I felt compelled to invest $30,000. Unfortunately, I was unable to see the money, let alone the anticipated earnings. There were several fruitless attempts to contact them. I needed to call S I M O N C H * C O M for assistance. A few days later, I received my money back, and I'm glad I reported them.
Not as smooth as other banking apps and continually down for maintenance. I'm a night worker and need it to work at 2am. Most often it does not. My tangerine app works faultlessly every time. Making unnecessary upgrades is also a cause of frustration.
Stupid people they don't know much about the banking proceedings nor do they help u very much. Instead all you'll get for response to most questions oh sorry you will have to go the branch which is even worse as the branch is so rude and slow
I have been trying to fix an issue with the online banking app for months. They have no clue why the cheque deposit option doesn't work. They keep inventing reasons to make me go away because they obviously don't know how to fix it. I have wasted hours of my life with these useless people. No more. If you are looking for a place to put your money any other Canadian is significantly better than BMO when it comes to problem solving ability and the quality of the customer service
I would gladly give ZERO to BMO. Disgusting bank. The most horrible and inconvenient online banking service. Also they reduced my credit card limit from $4500 to $2700 without any notification whatsoever. I learnt about it just by chance! Disgusting customer service! Stay away from this bank as far as you can! The worst bank in Canada!
I have been a BMO customer for over twenty years. They have do things that are so not conducive for a small business and expect you have an full time accounting team to spend hours pandering to BMO silliness. Where I drew the line with them is when I found out my credit card was being declined, while on a business trip. The reasoning I later find out is they cancelled all because the card is no longer a current valid BMO credit card. Even tough I was sent a new one, fully paid all balances, etc... They had sent a new credit card out. To an old address from 5 years previous, even though they had the new address in their system...? Did not call me, or email me to confirm anything about a new card...
There have been many small things through the years and this just took it. Took it to a new bank. Corporate BMO is fat and idiots that do not understand what small business is about.
What unconscious disconnected fool approve such a terrible revision! My understanding of the intention of technology is to speed up, simplify and create ease of banking. Ha! Remember when you wanted to print something? You press print, simple. Now it takes several selections before you can print and often a revision of printing preferences! Now we are seeing banking follow suit. The previous BMO app you could see several lines of your account activity. Now you can see one then you have to move the screen to see the next. Now this just the first observation from 3 seconds in the app. I shut it off I was so disgusted with its childish simplicity. Next it will be one letter or number per page! Is the future generations that incompetent that they are unable to receive more than one detail on a page? For me no more app, back to lap or desk top. I am not a bog fan of an unnecessary labyrinth to do bankoing.
I've been a BMO customer for many, many years. This bank does nothing for you, but take your money and spit in your face, disgusting. With many other banks, offer maybe, a 2 day early pay check or a credit card or SOMETHING! Not this bank, instead they fight you for every last penny in your account and then they put your account overdraft. Instead of helping you build your credit they find a way to keep your the same no matter how long you've been a customer for, it's actually very sad!
BMO doesn't provide a mortgage lump sum payment tool online while TD has it.
I got to call BMO call center every time and wait more than 45 min every time.

I wish I have seen all the negative reviews before banking with BMO. I just had the worst customer service. 2 weeks of banking with them and they suck so bad. They wouldn't even listen to what you're saying. Man look at that percentage of 1 percent review, I already feel sorry for those who are planning to bank with them. I wouldn't even rate it 1 star.
Its been years now that im with them and its the same story since. No one in front or one or two per busy locations and people just literally leave the long because its so long before we get service. And dont get me started on their app its the worst
I have been with BMO for approximately 55 years. My debit card got locked out on Sat evening. I phoned the 1 800 number and was told to call Sunday and would be forwarded to the security department. I phoned Sunday and was told there is no other department. I was told there was nothing they could do and that I had to go to a branch to get it unlocked. Of course nothing is open on Sunday. BMO has my money and I can't access it. Isn't that robbery? More than dissatisfied
I applied for $20k loc and was denied. My husband applied and got approved. We have the same debt, same credit rating, same income except with him he never pays his debts on time! Probably because Im a woman! BMO has got to be the most sexest bank to deal with! Absolutely absurd! Now I take a credit hit for f-n NOTHING! Done with this BS bank, dont take customer loyalty seriously at all.
I am one of the customers transitioned as part of Bank of the West's transition to BMO. And I can definitely the first-day experience has been horrible. Already started to think of moving out of BMO/Bank of the West. Our login credentials are not working. When you call their 888 #, there is no human present. A Phone Robot answers the call and if you don't know your account #, then it drops the call. If you go online to chat, the same thing happens with the chat. There is no human available for interaction.
Bank of false promise, abusing authority to keep customer on hold for whole day with no answer to call. Social media platform also did not help, and so is customer complaint email they think making customer to wait for hours before their call get answered is their standard service. This should be stopped or they should shut down the so called hot line. I would give zero stars if was an option, would not recommend this bank to any family or friends, be-aware!
Your calls will get dropped from national call centers after being on hold for hours at a time (even late night and early morning you will wait over an hour) and the branches do not get nearly the training they need to help you beyond opening accounts, trust me find a different bank.
This bank is one of the worst though there are no good banks. But this one, in particular, have extremely rude clerks and bad online banking; I had been locked out many times because they sent me security questions I never even set up as mine. They are incompetent and very rude.
