This app is good, but the only issue I have is, that it charges you every single time when the child goes onto another level to unlock. No one has that type of money to pay for each and every learning session. Not happy!
The content is great! My
Kids love it. However, it's very frustrating when the site freezes and the kids have to stop, close the app the open it again. Also hard to explain this to my 4 year old.
It's cute and fun but WAY too much to do. There is no clear learning path or assessment guides. There's too many activities for a 2-3 yr old to choose from, too many pet options (why is there a hamster AND pet park AND aquarium for example). This needs to be cleaned up and streamlined. In fact I will be canceling it because my 3 yr old gets overwhelmed and doesn't know what to do next when she signs on.
My mom talked me into buying my son an ABCmouse subscription several years ago and I picked the yearly option. He played some of the games for a couple days then lost interest, plus half the time the app would freeze up or not even open, so I cancelled the subscription. Since we did yearly he would still have access to it for the rest of the year so I figured if he started playing with it again or if they fixed the app to actually work right I could just resubscribe him. He never did, they never did, so I never resubscribed. That should be the end of it right?
Wrong! This is now the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW that I am having to dispute unauthorized charges from this company. There is no way my son could have resubscribed on his ipad, I have every parental control & restriction enabled. He cannot install apps or make in-app purchases without me explicitly approving it either from my phone or on his ipad with the screen time passcode.
I'm starting to suspect this company reactivates cancelled subscriptions just long enough to charge people again, then cancels them again cause the latest cancellation date shows Jul. 5th of this year. There is simply no way that could have been us because my son's ipad had been in storage for several months at that time, and his ipad is the only device the ABCmouse subscription was ever active on.
And of course you can't reach anyone at the company, just a useless chatbot that either "encountered an error" when you try to cancel then tells you customer service is closed.
I have reported this fraud to the FTC and I'll be submitting a report to the CFPB as well. They were sued for billing fraud before, looks like it's time for another class-action.
We love the content but the app freezes a lot for us which is frustrating for my 3 year old.
My child has used this website for less than a week and it has already glitched in the learning path. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app. I wish there was a refund option.
My son and I love the different engaging activities on abcmouse. My issue is the constant issues of it freezing in between moving to the next step on the learning path or during videos. It gets frustrating for my son and many times opts not to use this platform to avoid these problems. I paid money to use it for a year so I try to encourage him to use it as best as I can. I just hope that many of these glitches can be rectified.
Very few games and educational videos for a 2 yr old toddler, not at all as expected per their advertising.
My daughter really enjoys using the app except that the app has alot of glitches that constantly happen and she becomes frustrated. Each time we've contacted customer service they are very helpful but we seem to arrive back at the same issue each time. We haven't been able to progress on the learning path because the game has buttons that do not respond. So I feel like we're just clicking around to find things that do work. The Mouse Theater also doesn't load any videos for us on both mobile app or PC.
My kid tried it for a few days but doesn't like it. I didn't realize it automatically sign us up for auto renew on the annual plan. And the website didn't send out any reminder or notification regarding it before or after they charged me. I didn't find out until I reviewed my bank statement 10 days after the charge. And obviously, they refused any refund even though we didn't even use the app.
You can't cancel subscription until they get there money from new customers. Even if you don't use it no refund but you can cancel after they get there money. Bad business. I would give a 0 but you can't
I cannot believe this business is still able to advertise. It's just a scam. I cancelled back in 2019 and after receiving an email to update my credit card info, I looked and have been charged $59+ every year! No emails, nothing since. I tried to get on the help chat - waited forever and then website started glitching. Switched from safari to chrome, worked for about 15min, same process, then boom - glitched again. Absolute scan. Company is worthless and should be ashamed of themselves + the companies that advertise them.
Over the last six months of using ABC Mouse I have had to call customer support seven times for lessons not working, audio issues and bugs.
My son is only five years old and it was a big inconvenience for both him and I.
The fifth call was to a manager about the website and even though the manager listened to my complaint, no fixes were made to the account or lessons.
Every time I had an issue with a lesson not working the agents bypassed them and they were never fixed.
My kids love ABCmouse.com! They have been learning so much! (Picture is a number word that my son traced)
ABCmouse is cute it was good my kids love the learning path. It is good my third one loved the classroom! Picture is a apple my son coloured and he earned 3 Tickets!
My 4-year old loves ABCmouse. She loves to sing along with the various alphabet songs, she knows the character names, and she particularly loves talking about how many tickets she has. She has definitely really leapt ahead in her letter recognition and general understanding of the alphabet since she started playing.
We did try the personalized assessment (which costs extra) and found it was not really worth it -- it didn't actually change anything in the base app experience which is where our daughter spends all her time. But the base app is pretty fantastic.
My kid didn't get much from this games were pretty boring. My kid hasn't been on since 2020 today 3/27/23 i see a charge on my banking account for $59.95. So I call several times because they were to busy and asked me to call back then they hung up on me. Come to find out they put you on auto renewal and they can get there money through your google pay. So they had been charging me for the last three years and told me that technically they weren't supposed to give me a refund but since the charge was that day they were able to help me out. Didn't matter that my kid hasn't been on it in three years watch out they are crooks. Make sure you turn off auto renwal that they don't tell you about
0 STARS. This app fraudulently charged my credit card this year after canceling the subscription in 2016! What a headache, no one answers customer support. Finally got someone on the chat option who acted like he was doing me a favor. To top it off, I had to then spend more time on the phone getting a new credit card number. DO NOT GET THIS APP.
Answer: Don't do it. Find another learning app. The app it self is glitchy always kicking us out in the middle of stuff and it's not a free trial. They will charge you over and over and over! HUGE SCAM
Answer: File complaints against them with both your state's Attorney General's Office and the BBB.
Answer: When a corporation appears not to be acting in good faith, I look up the name and address of the corporation's registered agent on file with my state's Secretary of State/State Corporation Commission and send a USPS Certified Letter w/return receipt requested to the corporation in care of the Registered Agent with a detailed explanation of the problem and all that I have done thus far in my attempt to remedy the situation. A CC of the letter to the State's Attorney General may also be beneficial.
