I have purchased well over 100 skirts from DGY. I am passionate about repurposing sari materials and helping the planet while looking fabulous. In fact, I am known at my school for my very colorful and bling-y wardrobe. DGY helps me with all of those goals. In addition to great customer service, they are always finding ways to help their artisans and the planet in general. I also love their size inclusive wardrobe options. I've never been referred to as a goddess before!
What is not to love about DGY?
Good quality products and good for the planet sign me up! Got the Crimson Rose Lux Adventure yarn and I love it!

I bought eight of these scarves. They are made well. But I ended up with patterns and colors that did not mingle well - lots of darker colors like browns and golds and orange and black and darker blues. It is not worth sending them back. I am in hopes that after everyone fully opens their scarf and lays it out so all 7 bands of fabric can be seen that we might be happier with them. Had asked for pinks and purples and blues and greens and yellows. Very little of those colors. Three of the scarves were for teen girls ages 15,16, and 17 - I don't think they will be happy with the colors/patterns that were sent.
UPDATE: So, last night I took my scarf out of the package and realized I was only seeing 3 bands of the colors/pattern with it folded up in the package. When it is unfolded you get to see the entire lovely scarf. I am more pleased now and can't wait to see the people I gave these to open the package and unfold the scarf so that all seven bands are seen. This company is awesome and I enjoyed the instructional cards on how to care for the scarves and the positive vibe postcard that was included. Will keep you all posted.

First thing you need to know is they "review" all of their reviews and remove negative ones to falsely raise their rating. Also, their customer service is awful—they talk down to their customers and have zero transparency about when items will ship. They'll get to it when they get to it. You might get it this week, it might be next year, and they don't care. You might get something ripped or damaged, and they don't care. They'll respond to a review like they do, but they really only care about taking customer's money.

I fell in love love for the beautiful scarves in the presentation.
I use scarves, I don't want to explain why... I was eager to receive them. After a long time, finally they arrived. Not the main complain BUT, they ask for the colors you want! I mentioned them. There was a high pink and a many blue/ aqua colors shown. The ones I received have no colors like those the dominant color of the "pink" one is yellow, the "aqua" one, green, even red! Why are there SO different and Behhh! Yes the ones you present are Gorgeous... Not what you receive. I wish I can return them. But besides, thanks for what you do.

Spent a small fortune to buy 5 skirts. They arrived with mouldy fabric, rips and pulls and the sewing was very poor. Sent emails with accompanying photos and got very poor responses. Only option is to pay to send them back which I really can not afford to do. And I do not trust them to actually refund even if I did. So end result, 5 poor quality skirts and I am hundreds of dollars out of pocket.
The premise of this company seems like a positive thing but in actuality quality control is poor and their responses poor too. I would not recommend that anyone purchase the recycled saris.

The yarn I got was honestly fine but they gave me the smallest tools of yarn even though I ordered 4 I still didn't have enough to make a blanket. I made this purchase on their website and paid through my Amazon account. Little did I know they created a whole 2nd account when I did that so I couldn't find my order to return it for a whole day. Then I went all over this website looking for away to return the yarn and there was no way I could return it. I went to the FAQ page was asked to sign in again and my sign in wasn't found. Still waiting for a response. Another email went to the email on the Amazon account. So as we're trying to return the items they won't return what I paid for $59.99 and they'll only return it for $51. This website is a scam

I ordered my skirts a month and a half ago and had no emails back after enquiring after them. I was very worried that I had thrown my money away... when suddenly they did get back, turns out my parcel was at the post office and when I unwrapped my parcel I was blown away with how gorgeous these skirts are. I'm totally I love with them and totally revoke my review that insinuated that this might be a scam. It's not. I'm so sorry that I ever doubted.

I'm new to Darn Good Yarn. Not only am I happy knowing I'm helping support women working for their families in India. They hand spin and make the yarn from discarded sari material. So it's also helping save the planet by repurposing instead of filling a landfill somewhere.
I adore the yarns I've received. Omg! Beautiful handmade and interesting. I'm an artist. I use yarn in a lot of my projects such as weaving, crochet, macrame and basket weaving. And I'm sure I'll use it in other mediums as well.
Im not one to write reviews but I felt that this company deserves a shout out on many levels. I will continue my monthly subscription and try not to buy everything you have all at once lol.

We honestly don't add fake reviews, but we do ask our customers if they would like to leave a review and we have some pretty happy customers. May I ask, did you see reviews that looked especially fake, or were you on another site that stated something about fake reviews? We encourage all our customers to leave a review, and even the bad ones get reviewed as they really help us make sure we are as good as we can be. If you have any feedback I'd love to hear it. Especially sites like Yelp, we actually can't anything regarding Yelp reviews. Yelp is very strict about this policy to ensure no businesses can make themselves look "better" than the consumers believe they are. So the Yelp rating is a very real, very honest rating.
