My DePop account was suspended without any valid reason. I asked multiple times for a specific explanation, but customer service only responded with generic policy references and "security reasons," without citing any concrete action of mine that violated the rules. I'm confident this was a mistake or false positive, because I did not engage in any prohibited behavior. From reading other user reviews, this seems to happen frequently—other people have reported being suspended unfairly. What disappoints me most is the copy-paste, depersonalized approach of their support: it feels like I'm talking to a bot or template, not a human. It's frustrating, unhelpful, and erodes trust. I hope others are aware: platforms that suspend users without transparent justification and with automated, boilerplate replies are abusing their user relationship. I urge DePop to reconsider its policies, offer clear "statements of reason" for suspensions, and provide truly human, case-by-case support. If you're considering DePop, be cautious: you might find yourself suspended without explanation and with no real recourse.

The removal of sellers items

Depop is acting as if they like to pick and choose whos items they love to remove is you look on there site at people items most of the people on there have counterfit items the people they have vetting these items are picking who they want items removed they say rhey let you post fashion jewlery i see so many putting items on there page and saying its fashion jewlery and its hermes fashion chanel fashion gucci fashion and all fake the moment you put a real item on there page they seem to not know the difference and i believe to keep those fake items on because there are more people with fake then real they remove the real items because if they didnt they would not have anyone selling on there platform i feel this is a issue and somone needs to figure out whats going on if you say your jewlery is fashion they remove it if you say its real they keep it its an problem that needs attention they also want you to show labels of real items i sent them the labels of an authentic item and they removed my item anyway and said its against there polices and when i posted the item it was removed in 1 sec meaning they pick and choose who they want but i then went back and looked at wallets they had on there and they were fake not showing any signs of being real but they removed a real one again because if they post the real one they would have to remove the 1000s of fake ones they have there

They are just scammers. If you buy an item and doesnt fit or too small then kiss your money goodbye. They refused to refund me my money and refused a return. I would strongly advise not to use the site

My first time purchasing on the site and I bought a jumper from someone that listed it as excellent condition with one. The item arrived to me with bleach stains all over the front. I immediately took video and pictures and submitted to depop and I received almost instant automated replies that it was decided this was ok and the item was not misrepresented. This item was absolutely misrepresented, and I wouldn't have purchased how I known the actual condition. Unsure if team members actually even looked at the videos I sent, but I know that buyers are not protected the way they are on eBayor Poshmark. I've never had an issue with either of those, so I'll go back to those platforms and won't be purchasing again from depop.

I used to love the idea of Depop. I'm a mom of 6 and worked incredibly hard building a shop to help support my family. I spent hours learning their platform, curating listings, and creating photos that matched their aesthetic. I provided top service—fast shipping, thoughtful packaging, thank-you notes, and free gifts. I had perfect 5-star reviews. Then Depop started flagging photos I took of myself—and others I personally created. It felt like they didn't even believe I was capable of producing high-quality content. I was deactivated without a clear explanation. After months of reaching out with no response, I finally got my shop reinstated—only to be flagged again for another original photo and deactivated a second time. I sincerely apologized over and over, even tho I had done nothing wrong. I offered to redo every listing from scratch just to save the work I'd invested. But they ignored everything. I've seen this happen to other sellers too—it feels like they're clearing space for a younger crowd & pushing out experienced adult sellers who don't "fit the vibe." I held myself to a higher standard. I never complained when I bought from others, even when they shipped late or sent poorly packaged items. Yet I was the one who got shut down—without warning, without support, without fairness. They don't value effort, loyalty, or the heart that real sellers bring. They ignore emails, silence you, & offer no path forward. If you're trying to build something real and lasting—Depop is not the platform for you. They'll pull the rug out from under you with no explanation. This experience caused real emotional damage and took a toll on my confidence. I couldn't move on until I shared the truth. Maybe now I can finally close that door knowing I did everything I could. Photo shown is just one of the many photos of myself they flagged as stock photos that did not belong to me. Like how is that even fair.

This business, whatever it is, blocks/suspends your account for no single reason. When asked why, they careless and quiet rudely reply something like, "Your account is suspended, and you will never be able to make an account ever again." Hahaha, how self-important can you be? There are so many alternatives to portals like this one. Gosh, get lost, inadequate!

Alot of Sellers are deceptive

Its not safe...the Sellers ar allowed to do creative pic taking and call tings Like New and even Brand New, which are options for them and then when you get it, its not. The Sellers dont have to respond and you can get a refund, with you paying upfront to ship back to Seller and then later get refunded, but first you have to fill out a Dispute with depop and submit pics, proving to them what your Seller did and what was actually mailed to you...its a hassel and I believe depop has it set up that way for thir Sellers benefit and thats why so many of them on there do what they do. I bought from 10 different Sellers, clothing items...over half were lied about by the Sellers and creative pics were done for the listings. Depop knows whats happening, they set the system up for their Sellers

So every other purchase of about 8 things, the Seller just simply lied about the conditions of item. Creative pic taking and they get ya to buy it, only to get it and find out...they just outright lied. I returned 2 of the items, you have to pay for upfront postage to get it back to lying Seller, than when you find out from USPS delivered to Seller you have to contact Depop again for refund of item and postage you paid to get it back to Seller, also you must present proof to Depop with postage receipt first...no more shopping on there for me and I had listed recently about 10 items to sell... deleted all of them, don't want to sell on a site that allows what their allowing. It's the wild West on there... don't shop on there, it's bad

Taking a chance

You have to realize when purchasing, these are young people who prolly don't have transportation to ship orders right away. Yea stuff is cheap but the shipping and tax is $#*!ed. It is easy to mail if your standards are good. Other than that you can take your sweet $#*! time unless you like money. The pictures these females take are disgusting. This isn't a porn or dating site. I cancelled account. You don't know who stealing your pictures. They don't do refunds and you can't talk directly if you have an issue.

Not happy with a couple of issues. They took down a listing for a pate spreader under the 'bladed weapons' rule; there's no point or sharp edge on a rounded pate spreader! Worse is that I've just been permanently banned for offering to set up a new listing for a buyer who wanted me to split a bulk order for them. This is actually Depop's stated process! Apparently asking which payment method they wanted was seen as trying to conduct a sale off Depop!

So bad...i am speechless

I am not sure what is worse, the scammers on this site or the horrible customer service...or lack thereof...bought an item from a seller in the US...it was shipped from China to OH while I live in CA. Depop won't do anything because it was shipped/in transit.

Obviously they can't take the time to click on the tracking because either they are too lazy or does not know how/never been trained.

Well, took a month from China to ship a knock off/fake to the scammer's address on the other side of the states.

I'm a new user. Never sold clothes online before. I posted some shoes. And then get banned with no reason and no notice. Customer service won't tell you anything or help you. They just say "final correspondence".

Seller sold me faulty goods, Trainers with broken fastenings. Depop wouldn't even organise a return saying item was as described. Despite many attempts to rectify this and appeal Depop continued to be unhelpfull and unsupportive. Rubbish customer service and buyer protection is worthless. Stick to eBay and Vinted. Depop sucks..

I am a 17 year old student who is trying to make money on the side. I've bought many times from depop and thought this was a safe and secure app that i could trust. I was very WRONG. After my first few sales i was able to successfully receive my money and thought this was going good. Around the beginning of august this year depop kept moving the date of my "payout", this continued for about a week. On monday august 12th depop had suspended my account for no reason at all. Keep in mind i had 5 starts and around 25-30 sales so far. At this point i was freaking out because depop owed me $400+ dollars and now my account had been suspended WITH my funds remaining in it. I emailed depop right away asking what i did wrong and they got back to me without any reasoning saying they will not be "releasing my funds" and now my account with permanently banned, again with no reason at all. After i tell them that withholding funds is very illegal they proceeded to tell me that this is their "last email from them" and that they won't be speaking to me no longer unless it's with a "legal team". At this time i have been trying to do everything in my power as a 17 year old to retrieve the funds i am owed. Take this as a sign to delete depop!

I have been unable to send messages on Depop for weeks.
I have tried from various browsers.
I have been waiting 3 weeks for a pair of shoes to arrive and have not been able to contact the seller about this.

The website is extremely glitchy, and even sent messages to the wrong people when I did send messages. Other sellers have said the same.

There is also no information on the website about how to get in touch with support, I have only just managed to find an email address through the facebook page. When I sent an email to it, I received an email to say that I should resubmit my message in a request form. I filled out the request form with all the relevant details, and surprise surprise, it won't send! It just keeps refreshing the form with all the details still there.

When I tried to report that I had not received the items, it simply told me that I should go through Pay Pal to do this, which I have now done.
But basically, there is no way that I have been able to report on Depop that the item never arrived...

There is no proof of sending required from the seller. How do I know that she sent the items? How do I know that this hasn't happened to other buyers if I cannot even report it?
She has also not even marked the items as having been sent.

It appears that there is no way of ensuring honest transactions on the website and a fall back on pay pal to simply refund the money.

DO NOT use Depop

I had my account suspended from Depop after 700 sales with no complaints from customers. They claim I was selling a counterfeit handbag even though I have proof that's it's genuine and authentic. I tried to appeal & sent evidence through. I was told that the suspension stays. I'm disgusted at Depop. DO NOT use Depop for buying or selling. This company is on a crash course for failure. You are guilty in their eyes even though you have done nothing wrong. It's total madness! Who treats people that are earning money for them like this? No decent company, that's for sure. Even if they reinstated my account, I wouldn't give them another cent. After reading hundreds of reviews, they "stink" & you're better off not being on this bizarre evil little platform. Whoever makes their business decisions must be out to sabotage the business 😂 As it's going to fail...very soon.

AWFUL! AVOID

Awful service - please save yourself and use other platforms such as Vestiaire and Vinted. It is not worth the risk - the company provides no protection for it's customers. I paid a significant amount for an item - the item was marked as delivered by Evri including a proof of postage image of a parcel in front of a letterbox saying it had been posted (notably, my settings do not deem letterbox postage to be safe). The parcel was not on the inside when I arrived. As the courier had said the item had been delivered, they said they can offer me no compensation (as if the couriers word is without a doubt true). There is no formal complaints process and their customer service gave generic responses despite me trying several times to pursue an appeal. AVOID. I have been a loyal customer for years in both selling and buying, and have never raised any issues.

The ABSOLUTE worst decision I made as a small business was getting this app & trusting Depop. Starting a small business of selling handmade goods and styles bundles I had to invest ALOT of money on supplies. I choose Depop since the consumers seem to match the aesthetic of my business. Within weeks my sales are crazy high when I randomly get a warning email from Depop that I am spamming people (which I literally never did?) and was taking my sales outside the app (also never did and they could see through my account). Before I can message them and clear the confusion 4 MINUTES after that "warning" my account & my DEVICE are totally banned. Why delete my account 4 minutes after the warning? I didn't even have a chance to message any of my buyers. I appealed it, never heard back after WEEKS. Did everything I could to reach them, never got any reply. I did get 15+ emails telling me my buyers wanted refunds. Yeah I wonder why its not like banning me from the app means I cant access the shipping labels and send them their stuff. Bye bye sales, savings, and my small business for now.

Scam sellers are allowed to take money and never send the sold item. Report them and leavinf neg feedback does nothing! They're still allowed to sell. Stay away from sellers sophandella from the uk. Absolutely will not send anything and just take your money

Worst

Sellers do not use this app to sell your products this is the worst of worst. I had my account suspended for reason that I don't understand and this is my only source of income I'm giving this app a 0 star rating.I will make sure to see where else I give them a bad review. Thanks for nothing
