HARVERY NORMAN SPRINGVALE STORE CANNOT BE TRUSTED
I had an appalling experience with the management of the electronics department at Harvey Norman Springvale. From start to finish, the service was dodgy and unprofessional. I brought my Xbox in for repair under consumer warranty, only to find out it wasn't even sent for evaluation. Despite multiple follow-ups, no report was provided, and when I went to collect my device due to lost trust, it was dropped and damaged further.

To make matters worse, they attempted to charge me for repairs that clearly fall under consumer warranty rights. This level of scamming behavior is unacceptable, and it's not an isolated incident. Harvey Norman already has a bad reputation for upselling unnecessary warranties, and my experience further confirms their manipulative behavior and total disregard for customer care.

Stay away from this store at all costs if you value your time, money, and peace of mind. Scammers like this have no place in customer service!

Harvey Norman Deceit
March 26, 2024

Bought washing machine from Harvey Norman Belrose. Took the extra cover as we were told it would cover everything for 5 years. Approx 10 days ago the machine went down with a leak.Contacted LG number on the warranty reffered to harvey Norman, reffered to product care.Serviceman came looked at machine and said not under warranty. Tried to call LG, Harvey Norman, Product Care & all general White Goods. All companies pointed me in other directions. OWhen I pointed out that I had bought the Washing machine in good faith & that I would approach NSW Fair trading if not addressed told do whatever you want..."""" I have spent minimum of 6 phone calls. I am quadriplegic and paid for the washing machine and need this working for my carers, thats why I paid for the full extended warranty as advised. I WISHED I LOOKED AT REVIEWS FIRST
No One in my family will ever deal with HARVEY NORMAN AGAIN THEY DONT CARE

5 days ago I made an online purchase for a fridge, microwave, washing machine and dryer to the tune of $6940.95. My local store have informed that they have not even received the order!
I have escalated the issue and was told our issue has gone to the security team for clearance due to the total of my order being over $5k.
There is only email contact or live chat who tell you they have escalated the issue and to basically be patient.
No phone numbers for anyone who may be able to help and the local stores hands are tied. I've asked for a refund so I can purchase items in store and this was declined ‍

After spending all of my Saturday on the phone and on live chat trying to get my order put through and assured it will all be delivered Monday so I take a day of work for them to only FORGET TO PUT MY ORDER ON THE TRUCK!

Please, save yourself thr heartache and choose another store if you want more than a few items to set up your home! Right now I am grocery shopping daily with four small children and needing to go to laundromats which is a gross inconvenience. Despite all this, Harvey Norman apparently will not provide any level of discount/gift voucher or even a written apology for their sloppy and slow service!
To say I'm livered is an understatement

Please, please do not use them. You place the order, they charge you full amount and then cancel the order. Read other reviews, there are so many victims of these scammers.

Bought Mearth S Pro off Harvey Norman online 21/4/22. $749.
After a series of problems, where the Mearth S Pro would not stop, I brought it to their repairer 18/11.
After Mearth has failed to repair my scooter within reasonable time, over 2months, I asked for full refund.

Harvey Norman Online have come back and said
Hi XXXX
Thankyou for your patience.
We are very sorry to say that the scooter's is not eligible for a full refund due to it being several months old even before any issue happened.
We are able to give you a full refund minus a 30% which comes to the amount of $523.6.
We will be collecting the scooter from the repair partner so our Technicians may check the scooter and repair it.
To compensate for the time waited and for the inconvenience, we will be glad to send the you a free Mearth S Pro battery if you are happy to proceed.
Please let me know how you would like to continue?

Kind Regards,
XXXX, Customer Service Representative

I have emailed them back, saying that Harvey Norman's Returns Policy is in breach of ACCC, Consumer guarantees.

Check for yourself!
https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/problem-with-a-product-or-service-you-bought/repair-replace-refund-cancel

Consumer rights when consumer guarantees aren't met
Consumers are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund if a product or service they buy doesn't meet one of the basic rights, known as consumer guarantees.

What the consumer is entitled to generally depends on:

What was bought (whether the problem is with a product or a service)
The seriousness of the problem (whether the problem is major or minor).
In some situations, the consumer gets to choose the solution they prefer.

Businesses can't take away a consumer's right to a refund or replacement for faulty products or services. It's illegal for businesses to rely on store policies or terms and conditions which deny these rights. For example, policies which say 'no refunds' or 'no refunds or exchanges on sale items'.

Will keep you posted. But Buyer Beware! And Know your rights under the law.

Deceptive and fraudulent beahviour
November 3, 2022

This company cannot be trusted. They are deceptive and fraudulent
They purposely mislead customers by suggesting online, that they have stock, when they do not.
They take your money and then ignore communication when you attempt to follow up about the goods, leaving you with nowhere to go.
I will be raising the matter with the ACCC

After my disgusting experience with the Fishwick store, as well as my encounter with your corporate head office and them lying to me and not giving a stuff about the issues or having the basic courtesy to get back to me, and not to mention my dealing with Samsung Customer care!

On 10-02-22, I purchased this item at Harvey Norman, Fyshwick, ACT. I tried this miserable so-called smartphone by Opel out and was firstly surprised that it did not have a touch-screen. The software was confusing and it took me half an hour to find my way around the endless subroutines. I am computer literate and I can assure you that I have never seen anything like this in complicated and confusing software. After trying it I was absolutely disappointed and asked myself how an elderly person could use this confusing phone. I brought it back directly for a refund. This is the only way to deal with over-complicated items.

The service at Harvey Norman, Fyshwick was miserable as always and returning the item was a nightmare taken nearly 3/4 of an hour. On top of that, the money did not return back into my account as every decent and customer friendly company such as Coles, Aldi, or Woolworth would do, no it takes days until the money returned by Harvey Norman can be found in your account. Take this fact into consideration if you purchase anything at Harvey Norman. Next time I purchase items at Amazon as there are no complications to return an item if I am not satisfied.

Tried to buy a shaving cabinet online. The order went through and my money was taken from my PayPal account. The problem is that for some unknown reason the order was rejected, but two days later I'm still waiting for a refund. I have sent numerous emails about this and I'm treated with contempt and they won't even respond to my emails. Sadly, I will now have to waste my time putting a formal complaint to The Department of Consumer Affairs. Shame on your service
