I employed Optima tax back in 2022 to assist me with an IRS discrepancy. I was awarded an injury lawsuit which is nontaxable in the state of New Jersey, the IRS taxed the injury lawsuit and held my last 4 years of taxes due to their oversight, I paid Optima Tax way over 5,000 dollars to assist me so the IRS would release my 4 years of taxes they have been holding on to. Optima tax was paid in full for their assistance please note and no resolution to date. IRS sent me a letter explaining to me what documents they needed for a redetermination to be able to receive my last 4 years of held taxes. I sent them everything they needed myself, the same documents they requested from Optima Tax which I was not informed. I found out once Optima received their full payment Optima tax closed my case out.

We started with Optima Tax back in November of 2022. We reached out to them asking if they were able to help us with our 940's for federal. They stated yes but it was going to cost $22,000.00 to do so. We paid our first payment on 11-17-2022. We finished paying them on 8-17-2023. Since we paid them in full in the amount of $22,000.00, we have not heard anything from them! When I would call, they would ask to send them the last 3 months of pay stubs. I have tired numerous times to ask for the resolution from the IRS but no response. Need Help! Don't call them...

I have been waiting over a year now for a resolution and they never call back when requested. The people you talk to say they aren't part of your team so they can't help you. And the "team" never calls back. I paid over two thousand dollars and I believe it was all a scam.

This company is the biggest scam. I paid this company $2900 to not do anything with my case but build up interest and offer unrealistic resolutions. Save yourself time and money and do not go with this company. I will tell you what their services provide. For $299 they will tell you how much you owe the IRS, this is something I already knew but they felt the need to bill me for the information. They then billed me $2600 to find a resolution. This resolution took them 10 months, and, in the end, it was me calling them that got answers. I was refunded $400 due to their negligence with my POA (they lost the document twice) and the way they handled my case. The resolution steps for them are ridiculous, they wanted me to agree to $400 monthly payments (which I cannot afford) and insisted this was the minimum the IRS would except. I did not agree, and they closed my case and kept all my money. They did not file my taxes as I filed my own before ever contacting them, they found no resolution for me. I contacted the IRS after my phone call with the "supervisor" and was able to work out an installment plan for $225 and got some fees waived on my own. It took one week after I had already contacted the IRS and Optima called me to see if I was ready to proceed. I let them know I had found a cheaper resolution and that the Optima reps were giving incorrect information that is very important. The supervisor from Optima tax said and I quote" if the IRS gave you a better deal than what we offered there is nothing we can do". Why are we paying Optima then? They clearly are not advocates for the customer and want to do no leg work. If I am paying you to speak to the IRS and giving you POA then what is going on here? They had no answers for me but to close my case. I let them know I would be leaving reviews in hope of saving someone money (IRS interest and Optima fees), time and the headache that comes with dealing with shady companies. If I could give negative stars I would. This company has BBB+ rating please don't let that fool you, that's how they got me.

They did absolutely nothing but make me chase documents, and more documents, WASTE OF 5K! I spent a year working with OPTIMA, BOTTOM LINE NO RELIEF!

Optima Tax Relief... know nothing about except the excellent radio jingle ads.

I've been in their system for almost 4 years with nothing to show for it. I paid $13,000 for their services and all they did was prepared back tax years and I have to get another accountant to do them because they weren't done properly and say I owe more than I actually do. Long story short, they are not good at what they do and outright lie about their services. I settled with the IRS myself after dealing with these clowns for 1/2 of what their last offer to me was for. Customer service doesn't exist in this company and they cannot retain their employees for more than a few months. I've personally had to deal with a dozen different people along the way with each change starting me from scratch. When I called the IRS they told me I was a day away from garnishment and liens because OTR hadn't contacted them on my behalf for the last 6 months. I paid for that service? Now they want to offer me a $650 refund out of the $13,000 I paid them in which I ended getting the case settled….stay away from this company.

Agents don't have a clue of what they're supposed to do!

He was very patient in explaining how the tax option work he also explained how the process would work with the IRS

I contacted Optima with the hopes of getting help with IRS back taxes and all I received was a bunch of bull. Everything they tell you is read off of a script. After I paid the initial fee I was told that someone would call me to confirm information and go over other details, which they did a week later. I requested to speak with the gentleman that was handling my case and was given the run around until I threatened to cancel. I finally received a call back from the representative and was not pleased at all. I was advised that I owed the IRS far more than I actually did and then was advised that I would have to pay Optima a small fortune in order for them to handle my case. I declined the offer because I couldn't afford their fee. I was told in the beginning that I would get my money back if canceled within 14 days and have yet to receive a dime. I do not and will not recommend Optima Tax Relief to Anyone...Ever!

Optima Tax helped me to resolve my IRS debt. Although it was a 3 plus year journey with Optima Tax, they were able to reach a final decision which in turn made me a very happy and satisfied customer. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone in need.

So far I've been very happy with optima I had minimal paperwork from my business because I got sick and when it got shut down the previous owner threw my paperwork away and optima has been able to work with that and I'm very thankful I have an appointment on the 19th at 2:00 p.m. to find out the final outcome I pray the optima has gotten rid of my bill because I have given optima all my money I have no money to pay taxes I am disabled living on fixed income

The information they give us was very clear.
We never have a situation with the IRS so we really needed help.

They lure you in with a saleperson who will tell you what you want to hear so you pay upfront, this person has literally no idea if they can help or not. Then they stall for a year so they can do your next years taxes and hope some money hakes out. When it doesn't they set up a simple payment plan anybody could do with the IRS. That's all. I spent 3k on Optima, after a year of stalling I owed the entire amount to the IRS as well as roughly 2k in penalties and interest. They then offer everyone $350 to sign an agreement not to disparage the company. You can read all the fake positive reviews, but look at the negative reviews- every one of them says the exact same thing- those are the ones that are true

It took a while to get everything settled with the IRS, but it was definitely worth the wait!. I did not get to talk with all of the "behind the scene" people,and they are the unsung heroes,in my opinion,but I did have the pleasure of communicating with Adriana and she did a fantastic job! I applaud everyone that worked on my case. Optima did everything they said they would do,and I could not be more pleased with the outcome! If you are having IRS issues,I highly recommend you get on the phone with optima TODAY!
