My tortoise arrived 2 days after I had ordered him. He was healthy and is still a very active little guy. The food supplies I ordered were also in great condition and have been used with no issues. A+ work from Tortoise Town.
We had multiple communications that we had to initiate, usually after what was promised was not delivered. Then after we finally got our little guy, we realized it wasn't what we ordered, so we assumed it was the "back up" that was being proposed. We later found out after extra research that it's not that kind either. Creating the habitat was a good amount of money & effort, now we realize we have to make more costly changes for heat, humidity, and sub-straight.
I was leery at first but Tortoisetown delivered 100%. They've answered all my questions since I received Clyde quickly. I just love this little Russian tortoise, well, when he's not buried somewhere in his home.
People lied and then had figure they three different sites. Promise me ship dates gave excuse and more. Plus health turtles and ages. Nnow one answer phone. I have reported you and will not do business with you ever again. I hope you can repent. Because you lied stole from me.
I purchased three turtle from Tortoise Town. An albino red-eared slider, a Carmel albino red-eared slider and a western Painted turtle. The albinos were delivered rather quickly but no info was provided on the status of the Painted turtle. Both albinos would not eat from the start. I contacted the company early in the process and bought many different food sources. I followed their recommendations but both turtles eventually died. The Painted finally arrive almost 2 months later. Only communication was when I initiated. That turtle ate from the day it arrived and is thriving. The warrantee policy is only 7 days. Since I never saw the albinos eat, clearly they were not getting enough nutrition and died several weeks after purchase. They offered a 30% discount on a repurchased but refused my request to send video evidence they were eating at the store. This experience has been very disappointing.
07. 15. 25 THEY ARE SCAMMERS! They also changed their name and made a new website! I purchased an Ibera Greek Tortoise on May 1st, based on the availability listed on the company's website. After receiving no updates, I reached out to customer support on May 6th to check on the order status. I received a response on May 7th stating that the tortoises had sold out quickly and was offered a substitution with a Sulcata or Red Foot Tortoise instead. However, the website continued to list the Ibera Greek Tortoise as available, which was misleading.
I was then informed that it would take approximately two weeks for a baby tortoise to be ready for shipment. This was particularly frustrating, as I had carefully coordinated my schedule with the shipping timeline published on their website to ensure I would be available to receive the delivery. As a result of the unexpected delay, I had to make alternative delivery arrangements, which incurred additional costs.
Despite the challenges, the tortoise arrived healthy, as described, and was properly packaged. I'm sharing this review in the hope that the company will improve its order communication, keep product availability up to date on the website, and streamline the overall customer experience moving forward.
They sent me a CB young adult box turtle when I ordered an adult which has a $100 difference in price. When I questioned them about this they said they sent the oldest one they had and refunded me the $100 difference but that's not what I ordered. They should have said they were sold out. They tried to pass it off as an adult and make me pay the higher price. Had I not questioned this they would have done nothing. It was unethical/false advertising
I got a tortoise babe and awesome new addition to my family. Shipped nicely and healthy upon arrival. Great selection and all the materials needed for a habitat and to feed your pet. I did have questions and needed to email because I had a problem with my order but no one has yet responded. Its been over 2 months. Overall I am still happy with my purchase and pet. I just wish I got what I ordered instead of what they could give me. Or at least a replay to my email to understand the issue. This is my second purchase and I believe tortoisetown to be reputable and a safe place to buy pet needs. I will purchase again in the future and recommend that you do too.
Ordered Herman's tortoise 1m 1f both as yearlings. They charged my card and on the day the torts were to arrive I got an email asking if I wanted redfoot instead. This is completely different species care requirements and everything completely different. I declined and said I would have the refund. They said 10 business days and they still haven't refunded it. I messaged them they are checking after the weekend. They are clowns from top to bottom wouldn't even want animals from these people.
Koopa is my Sulcata hatchling I purchased about a months ago and he's doing great. Tortoise town is amazing and very responsive when you reach out tho them with questions. I will always go to them for my future purchases. Amazing place thank y'all so much
I paid for a pre-ordered an eastern painted turtle over a week ago day before delivery. They sent me an email saying they had none leftand what they have available so I selected another turtle and within 30 minutes they send me another email telling me that that turtle Had just been sold and was no longer available first why would you let someone pre-order a turtle if you're not gonna have one available second all, if you only have one turtle of another species, why would you offer it to me and then turn around and told me it wassold underneath me
I'm very happy and pleased with the purchase. He is very healthy and beautiful and the Tortoisetown was very helpful in the process.
I was hoping for a starter email instruction but that didn't come. Also, I should've notified with the delivery status instead of just waiting for over a week until I called three times, left messages and also emailed. This is how you set proper expectations. The tortoise arrived healthy overall although a bit distressed. Perhaps a better insulation and portable warmer pack could've helped and not just the foam.
Tortoise Town
I realized I never shared this experience when it happened, but I believe it's still relevant. A couple of years ago, I ordered a yearling Sulcata tortoise from Tortoise Town on November 23,2022. I had a properly prepared enclosure, expecting a healthy 4-5 inch tortoise, with the correct temperature, humidity, and lighting.
However, when the tortoise arrived, it was immediately clear that it was not a yearling but a severely ill hatchling. It was unable to open its eyes or hold its head up. I contacted Tortoise Town's customer service, only to be told that the tortoise was "just a month away from being a yearling" and that they would not issue a refund if it arrived back to them deceased. Additionally, they stated that any return would be subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Despite my best efforts to care for the tortoise, it was already too sick upon arrival and, unfortunately, did not survive. I paid a total of $364.95 and was left with a deceased hatchling and no refund.
I'm sharing this as a warning to others—be cautious before purchasing from this company.
Very nice person seemed to know her stuff. But our VERY exspensive turtle was dead in a week.
I purchased a pair of leopard tortoise babies last Christmas and they're just about a year old now and doing awesome. I was very happy with my experience.
I purchased 2 baby tortoises for sale online from tortoise town last month and they arrived the next morning, warm, well packaged and are healthy as can be. They were helpful answering all of my care and setup questions as well as I would buy from them again without question.
Very nice and I love my new little baby box turtle
Summary:
So far, I have had a poor experience with this merchant and I would recommend looking into this site before making a purchase.
Detail:
I purchased a juvenile panther chameleon from this site and after doing some poking around on community forums I was sad to find out this site does not have a great reputation for animal health or customer service.
Within 15 minutes of making the purchase I attempted to cancel, only to realize that's not an option on their site. I emailed the merchant and requested cancelation. They responded later that day indicating that they could cancel, however there would be a 20% "transactional" cost still charged to me. Had this been a credit card fee or something else reasonable, I likely wouldn't have bristled at this. This however struck me as the exact kind of shady dealings I had been warned about with this merchant. With the total purchase price being $342.10, this "transactional cost" would have amounted to $68.24, which, is an absurd cancelation cost, especially when considering the request was made within 15 minutes of original purchase.
Fast forward 2 days to when I receive a shipping confirmation for the canceled purchase. I immediately reach out confirm if this was simply a mistake but was told that the animal had in fact shipped. They apologized for the miscommunication and I was told to simply refuse the package and it would ship back to the merchant and they would then refund me the purchase amount upon receipt of the package. Package was delivered and subsequently refused as per the merchants direction, and I received a partial refund on 8/30. This was not a partial refund because of the 20% "transactional cost" (that has yet to be applied anywhere, from what I can tell), but instead I was charged shipping costs for an order i canceled yet was shipped to me anyway. I have since filed a dispute with my credit card company, we'll see where this all ends.
I any event, I thought I important to share this experience. Hopefully the company makes all of these nonsense charges right, but these things shouldn't have happened in the first place.
My tortoise arrived dead and getting a replacement has been slow. I sent in the shipping fee for a new one but no response yet
Answer: Very difficult, Tortoise Town seldom does not answer the phones or emails
Answer: I choose Tortoisetown, because of their video relating to the care of the turtles. Also, when I called they answered the phone and had great customer service.
