Avoid this company

I contracted unitel direct in 2022 to up my rankings on google etc which showed little results.heard little from them until I want to cancel the contract. I notified them in advance to cancel but still continued to take direct debit so i instructed bank to cancel any further payments so then came the 12 month contract card and informed me I had canceled to much in advance. So now going to court 02/12/2024

I went to court unitel could not be bothered sent a local solicitor. Didn't have a clue what the case was about. Their own court bundle was their down fall. Lies and inaccuracies were spotted by the judge before I could point them out.

I won so don't give up they just bully you into submission. Stand your ground and put two fingers up to unitel direct

Had an issue with not receiving emails and rang up unitel at 9am today and the CS passed on my concerns so that it could be looked into. Paul from support rang back very quickly and mentioned my inbox was full and at no extra cost expanded it for me and went through the prompts to create a new account. He has such a calm patient manner on the phone and was very easy to understand when having to go through the steps. Thank you for your efficiency in fixing this up just before Xmas Paul x

ITS A SCAM! STAY AWAY!

They sold me domain name landing pages and gave me a legal guarantee that my business will be found on the first page and under Google maps within 5 weeks. Around the second week I tried to get in contact with them no one answered, or even replied. After the fifth week they had already published the landing page without my consent, with an incorrect number. I tried to ask them to show me statistics of how the landing page is performing they failed to give me any. After many attempts I spoke to another marketing company who informed me that Unitel don't even have Google analytics linked to the landing page. * my account manager was trying to sell me a website as she was blaming my website for having a high bounce rate from the landing page. After I insisted on analytics she never once contacted me. After sending a cancellation email numerous times, * from Unitel finally called me after three weeks letting me know that if I don't pay they will send me to debt collection agency. He refused to listen to the call where the salesman gave me legal warranty that I will be on the first page. Now I will be suing them for damages and for legal breach. Please stay away from these cowboys, and get a proper marketing company.

It would appear that you're hell bent on reviewing us on every platform you can find.

We never guarantee Google! It's something we just don't do. So your comments are nothing but false.

If you continue to spread lies across the internet, we will have no other option that to instruct our solicitors to contact you regarding the defamatory comments you're posting online.

As we have told you on other platforms, we have created sites for you that are ranking at the very top of not only Bing & Yahoo but Google also! I do not know what else we can do for you?!

I urge you to either edit, or remove your reviews that contain false comments to stop this nonsense going any further.

I've been with Unitel for years!
They've always been great, always deliver on their promises, I don't have a bad word to say about them.
Prices have gone up slightly, but it's the same everywhere and I don't mind paying it for the service I receive.
I've been with other marketing companies before and unitel beats them all, hands down!

Disgusting treatment
September 20, 2023

I phoned six months back to cancel due to me not doing that part of my business anymore as me and my wife had started fostering two young children and I couldn't maintain the level of work, I was told I was in a contract and I said but I have done the 12 months agreed and then was told it had renewed, I said ok when can I cancel the lady said she would put a do not auto renewal on the system, I contacted today to say I have made my last payment could I check that the cancellation has happened to be told that it had auto renewed for another year, I said if that was the case why hadn't o received notification of that they replied with I can send it now, I said I had never missed a payment for two years and I will not be continuing with them.
I can't believe that in this present situation with people's finances that companies like this can continue to function, very disappointing.

Tip
Contact trading standards and citizens advice, both very helpful and keen to stop this happening

Don't waste your time and money with Unitel Direct

I had the misfortune of engaging with Unitel Direct, and it was an absolute nightmare. They made grandiose promises of boosting my website's rankings and traffic, but in reality, they delivered absolutely nothing. My website's performance actually worsened during our contract.

What's even more infuriating is their exit clause, which seemed designed to trap clients within their ineffective services. They threatened legal action if I dared to terminate the contract, even though they failed to deliver on their commitments. It's a classic case of empty promises and predatory business practices.

Save your time, money, and sanity, and steer clear of Unitel Direct. They are a prime example of how some SEO firms exploit clients with false claims and unreasonable contracts.

Avoid at all cost! Scam sale over the phone of a different service that they advertise to you. They also do not tell you the real price over the phone. There are a lot of hidden additional charges which you will incur soon as you don't follow strictly what they expect you to do.

Scam, avoid.

What a scam, they sell you on the idea of creating lots of new business by promoting your company through advertising, but in reality, they set up a website that looks like yours (which actually reduces your Google rating) and just advertise this false website on lots of free ad websites, many of which look like they're owned by Unitel.
Money for old rope, selling advertising space to yourself, then charging £100 a month to the customers.
Now my small business is not doing too well, so spoke to customer services, who said they'll keep billing me, even if the company fails, then chase me personally for the outstanding amount as I'm am a sole trader and liable.
I didn't want this service, it has actually been detrimental to my online advertising, and the site they set up, was full of made up content and not true. Luckily I was the only one who ever saw it, as no leads have been generated through it. I'd know because of the rubbish they'd written on the bogus website.

They promised me to put me on first page on Google and they put me on bing and yahoo.
What a waist of money.
Now i cancelled my direct debit and i take them to court.
I complained to financial ombudsman.

No cooling off period
Avoid at all costs
The only enquiry I had was from someone pointing out all of the errors on the website
This company are totally inadequate
Do not get roped in
It will cost you heavily

This company is an absolute farce and they steal your money! DO NOT ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THEM!
They tell you that you HAVE to sign up for 12 months - you cannot cancel at any time during that 12 months - and you have to give the 30 days written notice to cancel. If you are a day late they MAKE you sign up for another 12 months!

Scammers.
Having done business with them for over a year now I didn't like their services and wanted to cancel. They told me I couldn't and that I owed them money. They are incredibly rude and all of my freinds who have the same type of business are avoiding them. They have made me ill and I wish I'd never heard of them.
They have now replied denying all knowledge!
Well let me tell you all, they have handed ``the file `` to Debbie who has started ranting on about how much money we owe, well we are recording all the conversations and posting on youtube for all to hear. We have been told that we do not owe any money and Debbie is in fact Harassing. We will post Debbies conversations on youtube as well.

Was sold the services over the phone sounded amazing but learned very quickly that it couldn't be any further from the truth, after taking 2k off me in two months in signing up fees, them coming after me for monthly area fees I phoned up and cancelled my membership, that was months ago. With no communication from this shower of I pre emptied the out come saying it's strange how I've had no communication from them about cancelling to my wife, I've come home today to a county court claim totaling £3003.14p.so when this firm says it out to help sall business it definitely a lie

The good reviews are about Unitel while they are selling something. Try doing anything else like cancelling and you will see another face. In their sales pitch they claim that they "will try to contact you before 30 days prior to renewal". They never do. If you challenge them about this they will claim they are too busy. Next day they suddenly become unbusy and they are on the phone demanding money. They are aggressive, threatening and will stop at nothing to prise money out of you.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Scam. Never use this service. Dodgy customer service. Much promises on the phone but as soon you sign it's totally different and they won't admit it neither cancel service. Requires payment and threaten to start a court case. Won't cancel service telling it's 12 month contract. Contacted them as soon as paid setup fee and they never got back. When I finally got on a phone with them they told me it's impossible to cancel phone contract or whatever. Made some 5 minute website with link to my website that is hard to find and none of the pictures are mine, not my soap neither they asked for approval. Ignores requests to take it down… My business suffered a great financial and reputation loss.
