This was my first time signing in to ID.me to access the waiting line for live chat. I informed them that I am deaf, but the representative spoke to his supervisor instead of providing an ASL interpreter. I explained that, according to the ADA, ID.me should provide an ASL interpreter. However, he continued chatting with me by typing, which was acceptable. He is a great type to type with me so kindly. While it was disappointing that I didn't receive the interpreter, I appreciated that he was willing to communicate in writing. They should get an asl interpreter in the future.

The experience is good so far. But do extend the service to all gov/state agencies and even financial institutions (e.g. Banks, brokerage firms, etc.). I hope ID.me learns from Singpass (from Singapore) with (1) Wide deployment in all aspect of life (2) Enhanced security using facial biometric recognition.
Current ID.me's 2FA using token (sent to phone) or authentication apps on mobile phone is not secured once the phone is compromised. One way to improve it deployment of ID.me for all mobile carriers for update of SIMs, update of phone or porting SIM to new phone, etc.
ID.me's Wallet and discount programs are concerns for security for me. ID.me should not tied directly to any form of transactions.
Don't kid yourself. This is a for-profit company that is paid by the government to create a service for you.
This is not a government website, where cost can be controlled better and have cyber security professionals monitoring, and maintaining them rather than having the huge overhead of a for-profit company.
