Ryobi enjoys a mixed reputation among its customers, with notable strengths in product quality and versatility. Many users appreciate the performance and ease of use of their tools, particularly battery-operated lawn equipment, which is praised for its efficiency and lightweight design. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to warranty claims, service delays, and difficulties in obtaining replacement parts. Complaints about inadequate support and communication suggest a need for improvement in customer relations. Overall, while Ryobi has a loyal customer base, enhancing service responsiveness could bolster its reputation further.

Worst customer service I've ever had, if I could give negative stars I would. My lawn mower quit and even though under warranty I can not get any helps... for weeks I've called, emailed, etc. Each time I call the story changes and they make promises but never deliver so I have to start all over again - repeat same nightmare. One day they are going to mail me a shipping label, never get so call back and they say they never mail labels they only come from email and I will have by monday, don't get and monday they promise I will have sometime that week, didn't get and call back, no label was requested so they will express one, don't get and call back, we don't give labels, call back... yes, we can give you a label by the end of today, don't get call back, etc. etc... been doing this for over a month. Insane. I would NEVER BUY FROM them and will be talking to home depot as well about selling their products. The service center said they are full of Ryobi and when I contacted home Depot, they simply said, "yep, that's Ryobi for you!" Like they knew they sold crap. Buyer beware.
A truly unacceptable experience with Ryobi Tools customer phone care and decided to leave this review after several failed attempts to bring this to corporate's attention. The first CSR (no language barrier) I spoke to, asked me to repeat everything I said several times, acting like she had difficulty hearing me. I would talk louder and louder to ensure I was heard & used terms to spell out the information, such as "T as in Thomas" when trying to provide her with the model number. She responded each time, alternating between saying that she heard "P" or "B" continuing to pretend not to hear me. This went on for several minutes before I said, "what letter does Thomas start with?" She finally said, "ma'am, it's just a joke" before making rambling comments that made no sense. Jokes about being hungry & chocolate, etc., completely losing me in conversation. I explained that as a frustrated customer calling for assistance, this really isn't an appropriate time to make jokes. After putting up with all this nonsense to get to this point, she hung up on me. Not a great look for Ryobi to have someone like this representing your company. Called back to try again to get some help & got a more professional CSR this time, who was very nice, but had no idea how to help me resolve the issue with my new product. As a long time Ryobi customer, I was certainly caught off guard with this experience. I guess you get what you pay for. Even more disappointing to have reached out several times to corporate with no response. It's a shame to learn that TTI does not value me as a customer, so the product went right back to the store & Im researching different makes. In the future, I will be sure to shop for brands that are not under the TTI umbrella.
I bought this machine from Home Depot after 4 months use it for my home and then break down for no reason when I try to use the warranty I send it to the shop to fix it he charged me $171 for labor and he told me the real B company refuse to cover my question is if there is no warranty on engine what is the warranty for for the body or the wheel or the gas can that's b******* I need my money back guys I'm going to call this company never ever buy anything from them Plus I drove almost 3 hours to pick her up my machine and the guy he told me I don't know. Plus when I go pick it up the guy for maintenance he told me I'm not sure how long the engine is going to be working that's dumb
Just talked to Ryobi about my 4 chainsaws that I bought that are now obsolete because they changed the battery design and the new batteries won't fit. The didn't care at all and told me to buy a new chainsaw. This is horrible service. I have spent thousands of dollars on tools and batteries. I would find a better brand like Makita or Dewalt.
I've had this palm sander for around 10 years and maybe used it 5 times. I was sanding the casing on a new window install when the sander exploded sending metal and plastic all over the place, including my new window, shattering the glass. I'm sure fortunate I had no flesh in the way or it could have been a really bad day.
I quickly notified corporate about this issue and as usual... crickets
I own about 7 Ryobi lawn tools. I took my mower to a repair shop (recommended by Ryobi) and it came back missing a tiny part--a small gray plastic piece that fits into the mower handle. I asked the shop if they found it and they said no. They also said they could not order it for me. I contacted Ryobi, they sent me a booklet and made me find and tell them the part #. I was promised 3 months ago that it was being sent and asked to rate the service. I gave them 5 stars. Well, turns out they lied and the part was never going to be sent. They told me today that they don't have that part and to go to the repair shop...folks we have too many negligent companies like this who commit fraud. I say enough is enough and I am never purchasing another Ryobi tool again nor am I ever shopping at Home Depot again.
I've purchased numerous products from Ryobi. Unfortunately, 3 needed service within the warranty period. They denied it at first, warranty starts when manufacturered, not when purchased. They sent a replacement which DIDN'T WORK ONCE. Now my blower stopped after 2 years, and the 5 warranty is not available. Untrustworthy, unhelpful, and sub par products. I do not recommend ANY of Ryobis products. Beware!
My second Airstrike has simply STOPPED working. This is a HORRIBLE company that manufactures POS tools. EVERY forking tool I have EVER bought from them works initially. Then NOT. And heaven forbid if you forgot to register your newly bought Airstrike you are SOL. You expect this tool to work AT LEAST 5 years. Nope. 2 years seems to ring in the 'doomsday bell'. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY TOOLS from this POS company. I will NEVER (as a DIYer), EVER purchase another anything from this company. And that includes lawn tools… their edger SUCKS…. Their leaf blower, fully charged, MAYBE lasts 20 min TOPS. I'm reporting them to the BBB and FTC.
I went to the Ryobi website to view parts for a broken handle on my leaf blower. I ordered a replacement handle for my model. I received a 2 piece plastic handle, no screws, no trigger and no battery element. I contacted the company about the problem & I was told it was the right part and nothing comes with it. I tried to explain that the handle could not be used. My take-a-way was, too bad as it is the right part. To exchange it, there is a restocking fee of 20% plus shipping - which totals $4 more than I paid for it. I took the blower and the handle to the Home Depot to see if they could help. A Ryobi rep happened to be at the store. I told him my story and gave him the handle and blower - he was perplexed, as he had the same concerns I had - no screws, no trigger and no battery element. He said there was no way that the handle was compatible with the blower and he was surprised that Ryobi actually sold it to me. I asked him if he would authorize a discount to purchase a new leaf blower - nope! I was shocked. So here is the deal, Ryobi sells replacement parts for tools that cannot be attached to the tool - CONFIRMED BY THE RYOBI TECH Ryan! They take returns, restock the item and sell the item again, knowing the part is useless and the consumer is charged a 20% restocking fee plus shipping. That is called CONSUMER FRAUD which is a serious action. So the Ohio Attorney General's Office will receive my complaint with confirmation by a Ryobi employee that the replacement handle would be impossible to use on the equipment. Buyer beware.
Most Ryobi tools are a good value for the money. This tractor is not. I would not buy it again.
Priced at over $4000, Ryobi offers great phone technical support, but then expects customers to perform the repairs. The reason is that they have very few convenient service locations.
Pros:
Powerful and can haul up to 450 lbs. using an optional trailer.
Removable deck to take it almost anywhere.
Super quiet and no need for gas and oil. No fumes.
Cuts great but the deck clogs easy.
Cons:
Poor support geared for customers to repair their own products.
Slow to ship replacement parts.
Poorly designed brake system. Difficult to engage with cheap plastic handle that breaks.
Poorly designed LCD. Replaced one in less than a year.
This is an awesome product. It lights up the whole room. I recommend it. My grandchildren use it to trap crabs in a dark foerst.
Except for having to charge the Battery 7 times not a bad lawn mower.
I was just lucky that I own several 18V Ryobi tools and I finished my lawn in one day.
Else it would have taken me 3 days to mow my lawn.
Thanks for such a good tool.
I was a bit skeptical about a battery lawn mower but not bad at all

Got this lawn mower that is self-propelled and just love it. I have always had gas lawn mowers in the past. Was amazed at how GREAT it works. I'm a 77-year-old female and it was getting hard for me to pull start my old lawn mower. The battery charges up pretty fast also.
I like the ride we too they're really affordable but talking with someone about them they're very short and rude if I'd have known that I'm about I would have bought the DeWalt I have some they send out Parts with no problems
I have been a fan since the tools were blue, the closest competition is no where close. I guess that means customer service and questions don't matter. I have wasted way too much of my time recently just trying to get an answer about a new product. Why should I waste days on hold just to give you a chance to sell me something? Guess I'll stick to my gas brush trimmer. Sad.

I recently purchased a Ryobi power tool and tried to register it by creating an account. Each time I tried to create the account I would get an error message telling me the site no longer exists. I have given up.
I had a little mishap with Ryobi service. I have all the Ryobi tools you can think of. My latest purchase was the Ryobi Electric lawn mower. The warranty on the lawn mower was serviced by an independent shop CCR Mower and Equipment in Maryland. It has been sitting at the repair shop for almost 5 months. After calling Ryobi customer service a few times to solve the matter, they decided to send me a new lawn mower. I am satisfied with the customer service. I hope they contract a more reliable service shop. Overall, I love my Ryobi tools.
Answer: I own 2 chain saws, 18" bar and 14"bar, both run excellent, I have cleared a lot of trees over the last several years on property up north, thank you
Answer: Yes, call Ryobi's 800 number. They will send a replacement. The same thing happened to me.
